Carla Hounshel leads the Firm’s Indiana Workers’ Compensation Defense practice. She regularly appears before the Worker’s Compensation Board of Indiana. Her work includes:
- Providing employment law advice regarding the interaction between the ADA, the FMLA, and workers’ compensation law
- Defending employers in employment discrimination and retaliatory discharge cases
- Litigating workers’ compensation issues on behalf of employers
- Counseling insurance adjusters and third-party administrators on the intricacies of the Indiana Worker’s Compensation Act
Because employment issues outside the Worker’s Compensation Act often arise, she is well-versed in various employment and labor issues, including frequently litigating employment discrimination and retaliatory discharge claims.
Hounshel leads workers’ compensation seminars for insurance companies and third-party administrators several times yearly. She was a 2006 Indianapolis Bar Foundation Distinguished Fellow.
